U-Prox SE mini reader with OSDP - an innovative solution for access control systems

U-Prox SE mini reader with OSDP - an innovative solution for access control systems

We present to you a new product that will help protect your office and house. The U-Prox SE mini multi-format mini access reader is an advanced device that is equipped with OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol) technology.

Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) is an access control communication standard developed by the Security Industry Association (SIA) to improve the interoperability of access control and security products.

OSDP was approved as an international standard by the International Electrotechnical Commission in May 2020 and published as IEC 60839-11-5. OSDP v2.2, which is based on the IEC 60839-11-5 standard, was released in December 2020. OSDP is constantly improving to maintain its leading position in the industry.

U-Prox SE mini OSDPThe appearance of the OSDP standard in the field of access control systems aims to make devices of different manufacturers compatible with each other (primarily this applies to the reader-controller pair), as well as to increase the security of the information transmission channel from the reader to the controller. The introduction of the ONVIF standard in the field of IP video surveillance had a similar effect.

The use of OSDP will also make it possible to make a protected encrypted channel of information transmission from the reader to the controller, which until recently was a weak point in access control systems when using the traditional Wiegand and TouchMemory standards. Also, a very useful feature of the OSDP standard is the ability to organize a transmission line of the order of 1000m, in contrast to the traditional Wiegand distance of up to 80-100m. And this will make it possible to place controllers, for example, in a server room, to transmit data from the controller to the reader through a protected encrypted channel, which will dramatically increase the protection of personal data in the access control system.

What sets the U-Prox SE mini reader apart from other available readers on the market is its multi-format capability. ThisU-Prox SE mini OSDP device supports a wide range of access card formats, making it a versatile solution for companies using different types of access cards.

U-Prox SE mini OSDPWhat is extremely interesting is the combination in this reader of support for virtually all ID formats available on our market: EM marin and HID, Mifare®, 13.56 MHz- Mifare®Standard, Mifare®Hi-Memory, Mifare®Ultralight, Mifare®Classic 1K /4K, Mifare® Classic 7UID, Mifare® Plus S 2K, Mifare® Plus S 4K, Mifare® Plus SE 1K, Mifare® Plus X 2K, Mifare® Plus X 4K, Mifare® Plus EV1 2K, Mifare® Plus EV1 4K, Mifare® DESfire, Mifare® DESfire EV1, Mifare® DESfire EV2, NFC, 13.56 MHz - ISO 14443/15693 - the possibility of using bank payment cards with a radio chip as an identifier, as well as a smartphone with NFC with GooglePay/Apple Pay. The reader also has a 2.4GHz Bluetooth radio module that can read U-Prox BLE ID from a smartphone (which for example does not have an NFC module) and U-Prox TAG.

The reader has an IP65 protection class and temperature modes of operation from -40 to +60 C.

One of the key advantages of the U-Prox SE mini is its compact size. Measuring just 73mm x 43mm x 16mm, this device can be easily installed in tight spaces. The device is also designed for easy installation, thanks to the Bluetooth setup function from your smartphone, which allows for quick and hassle-free setup.
