A magnetic, or rather electromagnetic lock, is a device for locking doors, the principle of operation of which is based on the retention of a metal bar by the lock body, in which a coil (solenoid) is placed, through which an electric current flows. It consists of a case with an electromagnet behind a metal bar with high magnetic permeability.

The electromagnetic lock is installed on the door frame, the reverse bar - on the door. When power is supplied (DC12V/DC24V), the lock magnetizes the return bar, securely closing the door. In the absence of power, the lock opens, which meets fire safety requirements.

To compensate for the knock when closing the door, a rubber gasket is provided on the back bar.

Installing an electromagnetic lock

- installation of the reverse bar:

• Paste the stencil in the place of installation of the reverse bar on the door;

• From the outer part of the door, drill a hole d=16mm (according to the instructions, but not all the way!), and two shallow holes d=8mm in the inner side of the door for fixing the reverse bar;

• Secure the relevant part by installing a flat-head bolt on the outside of the door. On the inside, put a rubber gasket and already install the reverse bar on it. Lock the nut with a hex key

IMPORTANTLY! Do not overtighten the nut of the reverse bar - it should spring a little thanks to the rubber gasket, for correct and free magnetization to the lock.

- installation of the fastening bar of the lock:

• Fix the mounting bar of the electromagnetic lock in the upper corner of the box using the screws from the kit

- installation of the electromagnetic lock housing

• Attach the electromagnetic lock to the mounting bar and tighten the two screws (at the bottom of the lock) using a small hex key

Connecting power to the electromagnetic lock

• Connect the electromagnetic lock to the power supply:

(+) to the red wire;

(-) to black

• The YM-500N electromagnetic lock is compatible with coded keypads, readers, exit buttons, audio and video intercoms of all types and other devices of access control systems.
