The step-up-down converter is designed to obtain a stable voltage in the range of 4.7-29.5V DC regardless of the input voltage in the range of 10-30V DC. The voltage conversion circuit is built on a specialized controller using two MOSFET switches at the input and output, which guarantees high efficiency, stability and minimal noise of the output voltage.
There are two multi-turn adjusting resistors on the printed circuit board for smoothly adjusting the output voltage (5-29.5V DC) and current (1.5-6.0A). Control of the output voltage level can be monitored using three LEDs.
The built-in current limiting system allows you to use the converter to charge any batteries with a voltage of 4.7-29.5V.
Before using the converter with a load, the following actions must be taken:
1) Connect a power supply unit with a power of at least 120% of the power of the intended load to the input of the converter. The output voltage of the power supply must be in the range of 10-30V DC. The higher the voltage on the power supply unit (at the input of the converter), the higher the conversion efficiency.
2) Connect the power supply unit to the network, check that at least one of the LEDs on the converter board is turned on. At the same time, the green LED is turned on at an output voltage of 5-30V DC, the yellow LED is turned on at 15-30V DC, the red LED is turned on at 25-30V DC.
3) Using a voltmeter, set the required voltage at the output of the converter using
tuning resistor Vout (closer to the main connector).
4) If there is no need to limit the current, it is necessary to turn the Iout resistor (closer to the LEDs) to the far right position until it clicks. In this position of the resistor, the maximum output current is 6A. The leftmost position of the Iout resistor (before it clicks) limits the current to 1.5A.
5) If it is necessary to limit the load current (battery charge from the converter, LED power supply, electric motor, etc.), the current level in the range of 1.5-6.0A is set with the Iout resistor. It is advisable to use an ammeter to set the required current. Pay attention to the resistance of the shunt built into the ammeter, since without an ammeter in the circuit the actual current will be higher, or use current clamps.
