ESP8266 ESP-01 v2 is an inexpensive module for connecting various devices to a network via Wi-Fi. The board is built on the basis of the ESP8266 chip of the Espressif company, which is characterized by energy efficiency and a high degree of integration, which allows the use of a minimum of chip binding elements. This board is the second revision of the ESP-01 board.

The ESP8266 chip can be used in two ways:

• as a UART-WiFi bridge, while it is controlled by an external device using AT commands

• as an independent device. Control is provided by Tensilica's L106 Diamond series embedded crystal microcontroller

The module also offers several options for working with Wi-Fi networks, including the ability to act as a network client and create an access point itself.
