The HID iCLASS® Clamshell smart card works on the technology of reading and writing 13.56 MHz contactless smart cards with two-way authentication. iCLASS technology provides increased security due to data encryption and two-way authentication, allowing you to create a convenient, economical and reliable access control system using contactless HID technology.

• 13.56 MHz contactless smart card reading and writing technology with two-way authentication ensures reliable high-speed transmission and excellent data protection.

• A cost-effective way to increase the level of security in the existing access control system.

• Only a 2 kbit (256 byte) configuration with two application areas is offered.

• Standard HID access control area and additional application area for user configuration.

• iCLASS technology guarantees high security of access control due to two-way authentication between the card and the reader, encryption of transmitted data and the use of diversified 64-bit keys for reading and writing.

• Factory or field programming is supported, i.e. writing any HID format to a secure access control area on the card.

• Compliance with the ISO 15693 standard for contactless smart cards.
