Adding a Mobile ID License to the U-PROX Desktop USB Reader

The second-generation U-PROX Desktop USB reader (GID starts with 00:4E:FE:…) already has 5 prepaid mobile IDs . To activate them, it is enough to obtain the appropriate license from the U-Prox team.

What information is needed to obtain a license?

To generate a license file, send us:
- device GID ;
- The name of your company (or organization).
The GID is printed on the back of the reader. It can also be easily found by connecting the device and sending the `i` command in the COM port terminal.
Recommendation: Save the GID in a safe place - you will need it for future updates and support.

Step-by-step instructions for activating the license
1. Obtain the mobile_id-ХХХХХ.license file from U-Prox support and save it to the Downloads folder on your smartphone.
2. Launch the U-PROX Config mobile app (available for Android and iOS).
3. Find your U-PROX Desktop in the list and connect to it.
4. Go to the "Add licenses" section and select the saved file.
Done! The license is tied to a specific GID and works only on that device.

Additional tips
- Before installing the license, it is advisable to update the reader firmware to the latest version.
- After activation, you will be able to issue mobile keys to employees via smartphone or QR codes.
